Stormy Stare

Stormy Stare

Friday the 13th ….hhhmmmmm we need some good luck today then

For some its to do with the Witches Sabbath for others its The Knights Templar. Who cares when all we need to do is look into those gorgeous eyes of Stormy and know that all is well and that the word “Chicken” can make a little husky look at you as though you’re  the only thing that matters in the world

have a great weekend

Millstone Edge Millstone

Millstone Edge Millstone

Second shot from the walk up on Millstone Edge this week, its a little dangerous as you walk along the path, steep slopes to the right and difficult undergrowth and rocks to the left, not a great combination when you’re trying to carry a tripod and camera over one shoulder and a manic pulling husky with the other.

I must admit though it is a breath taking place and with unspoilt views across Hope Valley and beyond make it a well worth visit.

Hopefully out tonight sunset and star trails….weather dependent

Sunset Rays

Sunset Rays

Still processing shots from Scotland and this was making use of my Lee Star filter, a really useful piece of glass you can angle and create the rays to suit your shot, believe me its not quite that easy you do have to play quite a bit with it to get the right image meanwhile the sea is coming in and the light is fading fast, still I think I got this about right.

Liverpool bound this morning, hope my day goes well, Stormy’s not impressed she’s not coming with me and I must admit I really don’t like leaving her, she;’s had her morning dinner and slice of toast! we did go for a sunrise walk this morning and what a beauty it was, mist rising off the local fishing lake and salmon pink skies above

I See No Ships

I See No Ships

Couldn’t resist, just started going through my shots and came across this one out of the 1000 or so I took of Stormy whilst away in Wales.

As ever she knows exactly when to stop and pose for the camera, I think she’ll start and ask for model rates soon!

Shot taken at the side of RAF Valley runway, trainer jets taking off in the background, Jo was hoping for a glimpse of a prince.

Have a great week

Stormy’s Storm

Stormy's Storm

Hi and a very happy Monday to you all, boo hoo you say start of week and all that.  Well lets hope this shot cheers you up. We went to The Peaks as promised on Saturday, weather wasn’t great but it didn’t rain until we got back to car and set off for home.

We left one car at the  foot of Winnats Pass and then drove up and left my car at Mam Nicks car park, we headed up Mam Tor then onto Back Tor and Loose Hill before descending into Castleton for a well earned Coffee, Jo had Fish ‘n’ Chips with Karen  they smelled delicious, Stormy managed some too, well half a fish, while being fussed over by tourists.

Todays shot is Stormy’s Storm, she’s stood pretty close to the edge of Back Tor with the storm clouds brewing behind her, we were inundated with people wanting to fuss over her, wish I had bottled what she has, Mam Tor was as usual swamped with groups out for the, clicking away at their friends stood behind the Trig Point like they have  just ascended Everest.

Pretty much a perfect day enjoyed greatly with friends and Stormy of course, back out tomorrow weather permitting.

If your passing Barnsley Central Library please check out my Peak District exhibition, all uplifting shots non of this “moody, dull and dark” stuff. If I want to make people moody and feel depressed , turn on the TV.

All framed worked sold at very reasonable prices, feedback greatly appreciated.

Castleton Snowdrops

Castleton Snowdrops

Hi all
slightly macabre, I don’t know, but it was so peaceful and beautiful at Castleton yesterday. The sun was out all day and as I walked past the church the Snowdrops looked like little light bulbs welcoming spring into the year, just had to take a shot.

Going back this weekend to do the Ridge Walk with JO and Stormy, weather permitting

Stormy Does Mam Tor

Adrian and Stormy Mam Tor

Had a wonderful day in The Peaks. We climbed Mam Tor ancient hill fort and the weather was glorious. Stormy pulled me all the way up, she is great at this and I wear a waist belt lead so it takes little effort on my part, unfortunately she pulls the same way down as well, can be a little scary at times!

Great views from clear skies all around and there were several guys setting up to go paragliding off the edge…..fools.

Anyway Stevie B got this great  shot of me and Stormy looking the part as intrepid photographer and 4 legged helper.  Steve gave her some chips at the pub in Castleton, but I abstained, good boy that I am, another 9 lb  to lose then its goal accomplished for this year.

Had a mooch around Castleton after and bumped into a guy from Hauntastic Events who gave us a great rundown on the hauntings and ghost hunting he does, very interesting guy, checkout his site HERE maybe worth a visit, they carry out paranormal investigations using the latest equipment and view the research from all possible angles before making judgements.

Back out later in the week into The Peaks again, weather permitting  and Stormy is up for it.

Shots to follow.

Stormy

Stormy

Just had a great weekend away at Clumber Park in the caravan, weather didn’t play too fair but we still had a fantastic walk or two, Stormy loved it, in and out of the forrest muddy up to the top of her legs, she didn’t enjoy the hose pipe wash she got back at the campsite, bless her. I always feel guilty bringing her home as she never gets 4 hour walks like that here, saying that we are starting with the photography training business this week and she’s coming with me to do the  photo work and area check  of Mam Tor tomorrow so she’ll like that.

cant help but love that face, can you?

Stormy Eyes

Sometimes, just sometimes you get the flash right and in this case it really brought out the colours in Stormys eyes, lovely having that combination, not rare but I think it gives her that little bit of difference from all the blue eyed huskies out there. Were finally getting over our cold/flu/infections/ you name it we’ve had it this Christmas, in fact were packing the decorations away now as its been a complete sham this year. Next year were off to the Shetlands, suits us all, Jo likes it quiet, I love my photography down by the sea and Stormy, well she just loves it all….3 happy souls

out and about at the coast and peaks next week so normal service will be resumed.
