Stormy Does Mam Tor

Adrian and Stormy Mam Tor

Had a wonderful day in The Peaks. We climbed Mam Tor ancient hill fort and the weather was glorious. Stormy pulled me all the way up, she is great at this and I wear a waist belt lead so it takes little effort on my part, unfortunately she pulls the same way down as well, can be a little scary at times!

Great views from clear skies all around and there were several guys setting up to go paragliding off the edge…..fools.

Anyway Stevie B got this great  shot of me and Stormy looking the part as intrepid photographer and 4 legged helper.  Steve gave her some chips at the pub in Castleton, but I abstained, good boy that I am, another 9 lb  to lose then its goal accomplished for this year.

Had a mooch around Castleton after and bumped into a guy from Hauntastic Events who gave us a great rundown on the hauntings and ghost hunting he does, very interesting guy, checkout his site HERE maybe worth a visit, they carry out paranormal investigations using the latest equipment and view the research from all possible angles before making judgements.

Back out later in the week into The Peaks again, weather permitting  and Stormy is up for it.

Shots to follow.

Adrian

Well well… Mam Tor…that really is familiar to me…did it take you long to get up there? You both look as fresh as daisies lol. Were there many people about ? As I’m sure you know in summer you can hardly move around that area. The weather looks good. It’s gone very..well, relatively cold here..sun’s still out though. Just wondering though how you just bump into someone who’s dedicated to ghosthunting . Was he investigating at the time?
    Anyway time to turn in

Hi Alison, yes it was lovely cool breeze but dry for a change! there were a few paragliding guys there then the day trippers started, groups of OAP’s etc

The ghost guy was handing out leaflets in Castleton and Steve who I went with is well into it and has been on several hunts so we got chatting, nice guy, very enthusiastic. People were coming up to him wanting his advice on their haunting’s there so there must be quite a lot of paranormal activity in Castleton!

Summer is just around the corner for you I’ll be soooo jealous!!!!

      all the best

Yes, summer is just around the corner for us and I have to admit I enjoy most aspects, eating out on the terrace, Fiesta Mayors that the whole village turn up to, guarenteed good weather for trips out, lovely fresh mediterranean food, the sea etc ( bet you’re turning green right at this very moment..lol) But then there are the odd things that really put me off summer like the swarms of bugs and creepy crawlies, mosquitoes etc who always aim for me and the fact that I can’t have a beautiful lush garden because everything I plant apart from lavendar and rosemary has shrivelled up by mid-June, now matter how often I drench them with water. And no amazing sun tan for me either , it’s just too hot for me … just as well I don’t live any further south. Oops sorry I’ve gone on a bit haven’t I? Well time to put my nose to the grindstone …or not ? …is that the aroma of fresh coffee drifting through?
    have a good day

yup bright green, and I am a coffee addict too, love it, don’t drink or smoke, gym 3 times a week, cross train 5 times a week, drink coffee by the bucket load!

      enjoy

Coffee yes, smoke no, a little vino from time to time, a couple of attempts at playing tennis per week and a padel session from time to time. You win on the health stakes I think.
