Well she’s finally completed after a while in Photoshop, must admit I really enjoyed doing this, just need a real life woman now……I know they all say that lol
She started out as this.
Adrian
Perhaps one day, you never know especially with the way the world is going….lets hope not
Today’s image is courtesy of being awake with ideas buzzing round my head since 3:20. Since Jo was unavailable and wouldn’t do it for a gold pig anyway I had to dig old Jenna Jameson out of the closet, of course I’m just practising techniques with my Profoto B1’s, beauty dish and coloured grids.
Goes without saying would be much more fun in an industrial scene with a life model…any volunteers?, would also work well in an old cooling tower or tunnel too.
Background is black cloth and coloured by a gel on a B1 at full power while the beauty dish slightly right and above is less than half power, quite effective isn’t it?
OK it may be a little weird but I have a plan which involves a male and female model, the BBC and Musketeers…long story, if it comes off I’ll share.
Adrian
A little I’ll grant but it’s a well used trick in photography using layers and masks and while I had 5 mins to play I thought I’d give the B1 a blast, just one to the right slightly behind the camera on TTL, quite a neat trick really and definitely worth trying with different subjects and locations.
Go on, have a play you know you want to and you get to eat the model…errrrr!
Adrian
Honestly can’t believe how mild it’s gone now, I cleaned the cars on Sunday in a T shirt and today’s dog walk I was just wearing a fleece, has spring sprung already? even the white flower things , snowdrops thats it, useless with plants are out in abundance. It’s ruining my commission shoot!
Here’s another snow one from last year, fingers x’d we’ll see some more yet
Adrian
Isn’t it always the case! you get a commission for snow Christmas type woodland shots and the weather turns mild! was up and out early today to try and get the frost but the woodland was still muddy and misty not at all festive. Lets hope the next few weeks bring a cold spell and some of the white stuff. I have all my locations scouted and ready to go so ready when mother nature is……..
Today is one from last year at Black Clough in The Peaks, a good long walk up to the water fall near the top, bet it isn’t frozen yet though.
Adrian
as part of a commission shoot for Christmas cards I ventured out earlier in the week to scout a few locations, one of which was the Trans Pennine Trail at Silkstone and although it was a thoroughly dismal day with deep mud and fog it was great to be out and about.
The Husky gang managed to drag me through Nabbs Wood far faster than should be done on 2 legs and I very nearly finished up on my bum several times, people in the neighbouring village probably heard me cursing them. However their one redeeming grace is that when you need to go uphill you just say ‘Go’ and away you shoot up the hill, one trick that works a treat every time.
Got my copy of the book yesterday you ‘Barging Round Britain’ by John Sergeant and my name is in it , in fact reference the photographs the book it’s more like ‘the Adrian Ashworth show’, I did 75%+ of the images used so I’m very proud. Inner and end cover shots too as well as some shots with John himself.
I’m credited in the back with 5 canals and 2 other photographers with 1 each, I feel a weekend of reading coming on, that is of course after I have watched the accompanying TV show which is aired tonight ITV 8pm for the next 8 weeks, very excited.
have a great weekend
Adrian

Yup PREPARATION indeed, just shows how the pro’s screw up too.
Up at 5 am out with the husky gang for a walk, lovely frosty morning, white over, perfect for my commission I thought, so back home kit is ready and waiting (good boy scout) so I just have to get ready drop Jo off at work and me and the Stormster are away to start the Christmas Card shoot.
When I get there at Bagger Woods it’s closed for logging and the gates to the car park are padlocked shut!!!, to top it all the -3c at home white over isn’t at Bagger Woods it’s +1 and muddy……..never mind there’s always tomorrow but later I’m going to check out another woods so I don’t fall for it again. Hopefully we’ll get the freezing temps for a while yet.
Today’s summer evening shot is from my fave place on Anglesey, Poth Y Post, very spiritual place and if I could buy it I would.
Adrian
And I do mean rock literally, Porth Y Post is just one of those place that keep pulling me back there time and again, not only because of the stunning coastline, secluded cove and generally gorgeous weather but to see a friendly seal that seems to wait for our visits, he/she pops their head up and inquisitively watches us as we shoot the setting sun then majestically disappears beneath the waves into the darkness.
Don’t know if I mentioned that over the last few months I have had many tests carried out at the hospital some not very pleasant at all, well all is good as far as they can tell. My shoulder is almost back to full strength and Saturday I had a Platelet-rich plasma injection into my knee, semi put to sleep it still hurt like holey hell but fingers crossed it will now see me back on the hills very soon. It already seems to have taken affect in that the old going up stairs pain I used to get has disappeared, I have been training it ‘carefully’ lately which helps I’m told.
Darn this weather too, can’t believe its winter it’s so warm out, I need a few good frosty snowy days to do the Christmas Card shots for my commission. Hopefully we’ll see some over the next month or so.
As from today it’s one month to my BIPP assessment for my Fellowship, ‘, checking and double checking my prints and supporting material to make sure 200% I’ve done all I possibly can. I’m also looking into doing my BA Hons over the next year or so too, my mum was a BA in Art so it would be great to have done something similar to her for a fitting memory and to help my career further too.
Jo’s new phone is coming today so I have the pleasure of setting it up for her, should be fun as it never seems to work right for me………much head banging and scratching of butt!
have a lovely week all
Adrian
Yay it’s Friday at last and I thought I’d kick off the weekend with a couple of frosty images from a walk last year, must get on top of my processing!
Just off the main Woodhead Road is an area called Salter’s brook and I believe Lady Shaw, here you’ll find remnants of an old Inn dating back to the 18th century. Although not good for ale any more it does serve well as a great composition for the winter frost, and a little shelter for the roaming sheep.
You just may spot Buster the blonde German Shepherd in the distance have a good forage round the moor, he was there with my friend Gordon, Stormy was tied on to me, way to risky with sheep about to ever let her go free!.
Still waiting to get the decent winter weather here so I can head out and do the commission shots for The Woodland Trust, let’s hope next week brings it back for me.
Have a great weekend

Had 10 mins spare to look at some more of my Ireland shots from April, can't believe it's that long ago....Picture taken at Doolin with my back towards the Cliffs of Moher, if you haven't been it's worth it just to see the Atlantic in all its glory punishing the shoreline and yes I got soaked but that goes with the job, wouldn't have it any other way
PLEASE SHARE An image from my first shoot at http://www.wwuk.org/, really a fantastic place with fantastic people. really appreciate it if you can find it in your hearts to show these guys some love. Adopting a wolf is so easy and you can't believe the difference you'll make to providing a safe, healthy and happy future for the existing and future wolfs, once a sponsor there are certain times you will be able to visit and see the habitat they are in, set in beautiful countryside they have their own luscious green areas to roam free and be a wolf. Did I mention you could sponsor a wolf at http://www.wwuk.org/ I'll be in your debt. If you would like this image without my watermark or any others I'll be posting, then I ask you make a donation to http://www.wwuk.org/ to help keep up the amazing work they do.
Feel free To Share If You know Anyone With A Young Family Monday I was fortunate enough to spend a fantastic few hours with little princess Amelia Faith and her brilliant mum and dad Natalie Suggitt and Craig Suggitt. Without doubt she is a beautiful baby and was an absolute star. I tend to find that patience is the key with children's photography especially when they are not your own and you need several little tricks to keep them entertained and focussed, I have a lens mate squeaky that helps from time to time. I'll be doing more shoots with Amelia as she grows up into a beautiful young lady. If you know someone with a young family that would like a home shoot with us, PM us, we only use the very best lighting equipment, back drops and props plus we are DBS checked FULLY insured and QUALIFIED. We will travel nationally for our clients and all our work is guaranteed whether it be portrait, wedding, commercial product etc, we are also CAA qualified aerial pilots. PM me with your requirements and we'll respond ASAP Adrian Please not these images are digitally watermarked and traceable so please do not copy or use without permission.
