Thank You

A Beautiful Place

Well a big thank you to Alison who lives in a beautiful  Spain, lucky thing so close to the mountains one of my fav things. Alison bought 3 of my prints and has emailed through this morning the attached shot showing them in situ and  splendor in her beautiful contemporary house with gorgeous marble flooring, just perfect for those Spanish heatwave days, I’m soooooo jealous….

Just waiting for my invite

I hope you’ll agree they look wonderful and she has done them a great service with the wooden frame and deep mount, thank you so much, I hope they bring back fond memories of your upbringing in The Peaks area.

all my best

Happy Monday all, hope your week goes well.

Here we have a shot from yesterday while out walking with friends, couldn’t believe just how much a blanket the bluebells made across the forest floor.

Back in The Peaks tomorrow, maybe check out the burial ground in the news

Caramel Swirl

Caramel Swirl

Ah Sunday the day of rest and what better way than to sit and gaze into a Caramel Swirl!

Unfortunately I have cut the grass and washed the car, on the upside were off to Wentworth Castle with friends and Stormy shortly to capture the deer and bluebells and a well earned coffee, beautiful sunshine here.

Then its a relaxing afternoon lounging round the garden playing with Stormy and a great late Sunday dinner cooked to perfection by Joanne, she really is a great cook and I’m not just saying that..lol

Hope you are all managing to have a great weekend too…..

Cable Bay Sunset

Cable Bay Sunset

Its Friday wwhheeyy!!!

here is another from my Wales shoot as the sun sets over the horizon casting the last rays across the sea towards me and only me, yes I’m selfish…it’s my sun

Got my new wellies coming today as Joanne says she fed up with me having soaking wet feet and even wetter boots all the time, it is difficult to dry them in the caravan though so she has a point, anyway they are super dooper ones and the manufacturer may be sponsoring me so if they do I’ll let you know about them, if they don’t I’ll never reveal their secret..lol

Happy trails to Nic, Dave and the kids, lucky things off to Scotland for a week, hope the sun shines for you all.

Loads more of these to come, got another 6 ready so apologies if you’re getting bored of sea shots, its something I must do though.

Have a great weekend

At Peace

At Peace

Nearly the weekend and I thought well it would be nice to have something to view that’s calming, relaxing and easy on the eyes. This shot was taken as I was walking off the beach heading to my car, as I turned the  sky was rich with oranges and pinks and to think I nearly walked past it! This is actually desaturated by 15% on the colour side as the filter increased it far too much, what do you think, too much, not enough?

Physio this morning on the my shoulder rotator cuff, hopefully will start being able to train real heavy again soon.

Sun Break

Sun Break

Title says it all really “Sun Break”, the rock just splits the suns reflection allowing the golden stream to hit the foreground as the sun sets over the horizon. Yet another from my Anglesey visit, many more to follow, already got 10 ready for the next video.

Just found out that I had a special written about me in Derbyshire Reflections magazine Feb issue detailing me and Stormy’s future plans for the book and video work, anyway 3 page spread….any publicity and all that.

Bluebell season has come early so its off out with Stormy later, I think I have found a suitable place for this years collection and I also need to go to Meadowhall to take a shot of my image used on the big screens, “Rapeseed Field”

New blog for Peak District Online will be ready later too, I’ll post a link

I See No Ships

I See No Ships

Couldn’t resist, just started going through my shots and came across this one out of the 1000 or so I took of Stormy whilst away in Wales.

As ever she knows exactly when to stop and pose for the camera, I think she’ll start and ask for model rates soon!

Shot taken at the side of RAF Valley runway, trainer jets taking off in the background, Jo was hoping for a glimpse of a prince.

Sunset and Wave Action

Cable Bay Sunset

Well we’re back from a fab week in Rhosniegr, Anglesey, the weather didn’t play very fair for the first couple of days with very heavy rain and winds, didn’t bother us though, straight onto the rocks and captured some serious wave action, shot below as I got one straight over my head, God you cant explain how good it feels to be alive when this happens, so exhilarating to say the least.

This shot above was taken on Tuesday evening  when we had a great sunset, I dashed round to Cable Bay and spent a good hour compiling shots, I must have 50 to process that will make it to web, the conditions were so good. In all I managed 3 sunsets, one sunrise and a hell of a great wave and wind day, thought I’d been in some dodgy spots before…..never anything like this, 30 foot drop and waves hammering me from all sides, my legs still ache from being tensed against the force of the wind. The  shot below illustrates the power of the sea, I was right in the middle of it, I saw the wave coming towards me quickly wiped my filter and lifted the camera and rattled off 3 shots, this being the most pleasing.

Much much more to follow.
