Willow Bank Horses

Willow Bank Horses

Its a bad time of year for the willow Bank horses, flurries of snow and not a great deal of shelter so they need all the help they can get. Luckily some people do care for them and they have coats and food most of the time.
Spare a thought for the wild animals and creatures in your gardens this time of year

The Photographer Magazine

Just received my copy of The Photographer and page 52-55 is dedicated to little old me, well not so little but definitely old.

Received a few calls so far and an invite to do a talk at the Yorkshire BIPP next year, and a local demo and talk, will have to give it some thought. Its a great honour and I’m sure wont do me any harm at all, onward and upwards as they say!

Weather at the moment is snowy but wet so no walkies today for me, instead its a drag round the River Dearne with Stormy the Husky, at least she’s happy!

Higger Tor Dawn

Shot from the edge of Higger Tor looking down across Carl Wark in the Peak district on a cold bleak winters morning, used a couple of filters to slow it down and cause the sky drag.

Winter Dawn

Winter Dawn

A long shot from Curbar Edge in The Peak District looking down across the winter valley and beyond, wonderful casting colours from the early morning winter  sun. shot using Lee sunrise filters which enhance the tones as well as a Heliopan Polariser to add distant detail to the horizon.

Just sold another shot of Hordron Rainbow, my best seller so far

Curbar Sunrise Glow

Curbar Sunrise Glow

Getting on with my processing now, another from Curbar a little while ago as the sun was making a timely appearance shedding a beautiful warm glow across the valley skyline, believe me though it was still freezing and I had to keep cleaning and de misting my filters.

Worsbrough Stream

Went for a snow walk with Stormy the Husky and came across this stream with the remains of the days sun glistening off it, I love the way the sunlight to the right is adding not just a tone but brightness to the scene.

Mossyard (Dumfries)

Mossyard Sunrise

Got a little more time now as the year ends to start processing shots from this summer, this one is Mossyard Sunrise #  7, just round the coast from Gatehouse of Fleet, truly a place that needs lots of visits with ancient and modern mixes of culture. Roads are wonderful never any hassles, eating out couldn’t be better with fresh Scottish beef on the menu, you cant get better.

Stormy In The Snow

Stormy In The Recent Snow

Shot of Stormy in the recent heavy snow we had, she absolutely loves the stuff and cant keep her out of it. When she can carry my kit as well she’ll be perfect. Done a couple of shoots now with her in The Peaks and she has been excellent, when you say camera she sits…..what more could you want?

Off out this weekend with her again for a coast shoot hopefully.

Adrian At The National Theatre Awards

Adrian Ashworth in forn of his commended image "Hordron Rainbow" winter scene at Landscape Photographer of The Year 2010 National Theatre exhibition.

25th November at The Nataional Theatre, my shot Hordron Rainbow was commended and displayed with approx another 99 images. total entries somewhere around 50,000 so I was very pleased to receive this award, I also had a double page in the AA book, the only shot to have this, also my shot is 1 out of 10 used fro the postcard collection, again a great honour plus its on countless websites and magazine articles not to mention BBC Brasil http://www.bbc.co.uk/portuguese/noticias/2010/10/101027_galeria_landscape_is.shtml

Ah well onward and upward, out doing shoots at the moment for another exhibition
