Morning all, this shot was from last year just came across it in my archives, must do more tidying I have 1000’s of shots that need sorting, anybody fancy a job?

its part of a wonderful walk from Grinds Brook up to Kinder Scout and when the weather is nice as it was this day the views and wildlife where great to witness. There are loads of these little falls leading all the way up and if you come back down the same way you can have a pint or three in The Old Nags Head

Polariser Symmetry

Well at least its Friday!

todays shot is to demonstrate the effect of a good Polariser, I used my Heliopan 105mm with a .6 soft grad in front of it to create this shot at Ladybower Reservoir, shot was pre sunrise with a amber cast rising from behind the hills. The Polarise has the effect of cutting through reflections on water to a distance and making blues bluer and whites whiter, topped off with simple tweaks of contrast and saturation in PS CS 5 you get the desired effect.

Off to Clumber tomorrow with Jo and Stormy for a walk and check out the caravans before we pick ours up next week, cant wait, 🙂

Curbar Sunrise 'n' Mist

Halfway through the week now, at last! weekends looming, cant wait, were off to Clumber Park for a great day out with my sis and her caravan, should be fun, bacon sarnies and a long lake walk for Stormy, plus may do a few shots for Caravan Club.

Hope the weather stays fine for us!

Storm Front Approaching, Curbar Edge

Hi all, happy Monday :), managed to do pretty much nothing all weekend, no shoots due to the poor weather and spent our time caravan hunting which we managed to get so will have easier access around the country now for longer shoots and Jo and Stormy will be comfortable and happy too.

This shot is another from Curbar in the Derbyshire Peak District, an early morning shot with a mist inversion, the remnants of the days sunrise and a huge storm front coming over the rocks in the distance to the left, hope youy like it anyway.

Curbar Edge Misty View

Morning all, this ones from a few weeks ago finally getting round to doing some processing at a last got 100’s to got through and I’m busily writing my next piece for my Peak District online blogg, any suggestions welcome. Love the way the way the mist swirls around the  central mound and areas are hit by the rising sun.

Good morning for moon shots did some myself yesterday was a really weird sky, I’ll be down in The Peaks at the weekend probably Sunday so if you se me with Stormy the husky come up and say hello, I wont bite!

Shelter From The Storm

Made it down to The Peaks yesterday with Stormy the Husky, the promise of a sunrise forecast was too much to resist, unfortunately they LIED, what a plain dead sky, met a guy who’d been there since 7am waiting only to see a flat grey sky go lighter, of course the sun came out later when I’d headed home and this morning looks great but I have work to do on the book and site.

Tonight is sunset night, I’m going to do Monday mornings sunrise and Tuesday evening sunsets from now on this year, this will add to my collections and ensure I get to as many areas as possible, also weekends from Feb will be coast shots, again for the book. This shot is from Over Owler and its on the decent back towards to Surprise view Car park, always makes me chuckle! beautiful gritstone escarpment  and I love the tree standing boldly against the heavy sky.
