Higger Tor Sunrise # 5

Ahhhhh  warmer days, well not really was taken last month so still a freezing cold sunrise at Higger Tor in The Peak District.
Love the way the sun dances through the rocks and casts a warm golden glow in the foreground.

All ready for Christmas now, wonder what Santa will bring me, not that I want anything…got the love of a good woman and the loyalty and trust of my Husky “Stormy”

wishing you all a merry Christmas and Healthy New Year

Royd Moor Sunrise

Just getting round top processing some older shots from the summer….I now better late than never. This is Royd Moor Wind Farm near Ingbirchworth, may pop up later and do a sunset, some nice movement in the turbine propellers

Standing On Broken Glass

The ice is getting thicker down by the Dearne River, cant wait to get out again later, winter has really taken a grip here -10c this morning, the frost is turning the trees to a glistening white, so much better than the boring winter brown.

Dearne River Winter Horses

More from my walk with Stormy, Winter Horses by Dearne River. There must be 50+ horses roaming this land fed by good natured caring people, they are extremely trusting and very gentle, I could stay and photograph them all day!

Old Tree Sunset

Another from my walk yesterday with Stormy down by The Dearne River, this beautiful old tree stands out proudly against a frozen pond as the sunsets through the trees. Love this area, going there again later

The Frozen Walk

Wow what a walk we had yesterday me and Stormy, was absolutely freezing by the Dearne River , Barnsley -9c. All the trees were glazed in a beautiful frozen mist and the sky was so clear and blue, made for some great winter postcard shots, more to follow.

Emley Moon

Bit of a weird one here, I was awake and got up at 3:25am as you do, so let Storm out, as I turned to look across Emley I couldn’t believe my eyes, I have never seen the moon so large, I rushed in and got my camera and 400mm lens on, this was the steadiest shot I took with iso on HI though you can make out the stars behind the moon. As I watched it went right across the top of the transmitter (vertical RED lights) in and out behind clouds casting a yellow glow…..what luck!…..ooohhh so tired now though!

Worsbrough Mill Sunburst

One from a week or so ago while walking Stormy The husky by Worsbrough Mill Reservoir. love the way the sun strikes the snow and pours golden warm rays in all directions…..ah happy days

Early Christmas Present

Well I finally succumbed to the Chelsea tractor brigade, I have had enough of sitting watching the snow fall when I could be in The Peaks or Dales doing what I love best!. Probably the best investment I have done this year and I got a top deal on it, one very happy photographer, plus it doubles as Stormy’s transporter

So You Think It’s Cold?

Red Square

Not the best of shots I admit, was taken with a crappy little pocket job and my fingers were frozen, just to put this weather in perspective when I was stood there taking this shot with the police stood at the side of me…another story!, it was -35c yup that cold, 15 seconds without gloves and you lost feeling, with a scarf round your mouth you had a block of ice within a minute, the night we were there 9 people froze to death on the streets of Moscow, homeless people sleep on the ventilation shafts for the underground, they get a layer of snow on them and the  birds sit on them and rest

So please do enjoy our tropical weather and spare a thought for our Russian friends
