Rule of 5th’s, 6th’s I don’t know

Well what can I say, generally the rule of 3rds is pretty tight when composing a landscape image, but what happens when your faced with this, I think its probably about 5 or 6  levels horizontal but I still love it as it gets warmer to the top. Was a winter sunrise on Curbar Edge in The peaks, may have some good news later, keep looking I’ll update as soon as I know.

This shot will be part of the next Blog 4 for Peak District Online

Warhol Yachts

Slight curve ball of a shot today, this is my own tribute to Warhol with the yachts at Rhosneigr during a fantastic sunset, really like the way the colours work with each other, may have to try this with some other work, I think I get what he was doing or at least how the image makes you feel, saying that yachts or Monroe, well suppose Monroe wins!

WWhhoosshh!

One from a while ago,  Sandsend just above Whitby has great groynes and pebbles on the beach and when the weather is right you get great cloudscapes to accompany the sea, even better than that is the super little cafe on the beach edge, beautiful coffee………be there real soon

Alone At Last

As I stand there, sea washing around my feet, cooling and refreshing staring out to sea as the last light of the setting sun descends the horizon, fresh breeze clears my thoughts and then it hits me

oh my god did I leave the iron on”

Rhosneigr Sunset

Rhosneigr Sunset

Hi and thanks for looking,
this shot is from Rhosneigr on Anglesey one of my spiritual homes, every few weeks I need to be there up to my knees in the cold sea either photographing , jet skiing or plain old paddling, who cares as long as I get to feel the sea breeze and smell the ocean as it laps against my legs. Will be back there real soon

Lyn Gwynant

Llyn Gwynant

Llyn Gwynant is a lake in Snowdonia, Wales.
Llyn Gwynant lies on the River Glaslyn, in the Nant Gwynant valley, and is about 2 km north east of Llyn Dinas; the village of Bethania lies between them.
Snowdon lies 3 km to the north west. The lake is natural, having been formed by glacial action and is 50 hectares in size. It is a popular place for canoeing and kayaking with easy access from the A498 road which runs along its south bank.
It was used as a filming location in the 2003 film ‘Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life’.

Rhosneigr Silk

Rhosneigr Silk

Silk smooth waters on main beach Rhosneigr Anglesey, the sun setting to the right casting a pink warmth across the bay and the stillness of the sea shimmering against the night blue sky, thats the sales pitch, in reality its a night shot with a filter on to smooth the sea from my favorite place.

The White Arch

The White Arch

One from a little while ago, The White Arch (Bwa Gwyn) at Rhoscolyn, Anglesey North Wales. Was a miserable day with drizzle and heavy rain at times, we’d walked across a field and I climbed down the rock/cliff face slipping and sliding to the bottom, eventually there I setup and was rewarded with this shot, the waves crashing at my feet soaking me and the camera several times ,luckily the camera was ok when it dried out. love the sea green and blue tints from the filters.
