Snowy Dearne
Wwwwhhheeeyyyy, its snowing again, just had a fantastic walk by the Dearne River with Stormy, snow heavily dropping into the river and surrounding forrest, truly a great place to be. Storm went off lead for a 1st and came to heel every time she was called back, what a little star she is, cant get over how clever and good she is without really been trained to any level, 7 months old, heels, sits, rolls over and paws on head not bad doing eh!
Turning to rain now…bbooohhhhooo
MIsty Rocks
One again from a few weeks ago, the mist inversion cloaking the cement works at Hope, was a freezing cold day but the sun gave a warm glow to the bracken and dead heather.
Coast this weekend hopefully, in need of the sea, and Stormy needs a swim
Frosty Dearne Morning
Well all the festivities are well and truly over now, the raining has started and the days are going to drag on!
this shot is from a couple of weeks ago down by The Dearne River, love the way the ice was just broken enough to allow a reflection of the sun kissed trees, clear rich blue skies and the frost clinging to the trees, a perfect winter scene.
Off out later and tomorrow its off to the Peaks, been a while, need to get back in the swing of it, coast at the weekend all being well.
Winter Ponies
Shot from last week while down by The Dearne River, “Winter Horses”, well fed and with the glow of the sun on their backs, breath silhouetting against the harsh backdrop.
Been down this morning with Stormy to check on them, they look well if not a little mud covered due to all the melting snow and ice but they have plenty of food so they should be fine.
Off to the coast hopefully tomorrow for New Years day, so I’ll wish you all a greta and healthy 2011

Well I finally made it for a walk with Stormy down by the river….nose running and head bunged up with god knows what but hey thats life and theres far too much beauty out there to let a cold stop you from enjoying it…headphones on “Scorpions – She Said” followed by “Remember The Good Times”check em out well worth a listen, old stuff I know but god they rock, saw em at Manchester Apollo and have been a fan since I was 18 which is hhmmmmm few years ago…thats the way to do a photo shoot with great music going through you…..

The ice is getting thicker down by the Dearne River, cant wait to get out again later, winter has really taken a grip here -10c this morning, the frost is turning the trees to a glistening white, so much better than the boring winter brown.

Bit of a weird one here, I was awake and got up at 3:25am as you do, so let Storm out, as I turned to look across Emley I couldn’t believe my eyes, I have never seen the moon so large, I rushed in and got my camera and 400mm lens on, this was the steadiest shot I took with iso on HI though you can make out the stars behind the moon. As I watched it went right across the top of the transmitter (vertical RED lights) in and out behind clouds casting a yellow glow…..what luck!…..ooohhh so tired now though!
