Fire and Ice – Turners Sky

Fire and Ice - Turners sky

Winter is still with us and as this shot shows we get some dramatic skies at sunrise in The Peaks, even though it was burning through I was freezing cold and stood in a foot of snow, A big mug of Bovril sorted it out.

Thank god for Bovril…..

I’m not sponsoring Bovril before you say anything!, I just like Bovril, did I say it warms you right through especially with pepper in it, 2 shakes of course.

Have a great weekend all, and don’t forget the Bovril

Rule of 5th’s, 6th’s I don’t know

Well what can I say, generally the rule of 3rds is pretty tight when composing a landscape image, but what happens when your faced with this, I think its probably about 5 or 6  levels horizontal but I still love it as it gets warmer to the top. Was a winter sunrise on Curbar Edge in The peaks, may have some good news later, keep looking I’ll update as soon as I know.

This shot will be part of the next Blog 4 for Peak District Online

Higger Tor Sunrise # 5

Ahhhhh  warmer days, well not really was taken last month so still a freezing cold sunrise at Higger Tor in The Peak District.
Love the way the sun dances through the rocks and casts a warm golden glow in the foreground.

All ready for Christmas now, wonder what Santa will bring me, not that I want anything…got the love of a good woman and the loyalty and trust of my Husky “Stormy”

wishing you all a merry Christmas and Healthy New Year

Royd Moor Sunrise

Just getting round top processing some older shots from the summer….I now better late than never. This is Royd Moor Wind Farm near Ingbirchworth, may pop up later and do a sunset, some nice movement in the turbine propellers

Curbar Sunrise Glow

Curbar Sunrise Glow

Getting on with my processing now, another from Curbar a little while ago as the sun was making a timely appearance shedding a beautiful warm glow across the valley skyline, believe me though it was still freezing and I had to keep cleaning and de misting my filters.

Mossyard (Dumfries)

Mossyard Sunrise

Got a little more time now as the year ends to start processing shots from this summer, this one is Mossyard Sunrise #  7, just round the coast from Gatehouse of Fleet, truly a place that needs lots of visits with ancient and modern mixes of culture. Roads are wonderful never any hassles, eating out couldn’t be better with fresh Scottish beef on the menu, you cant get better.
